This 3 day course starts with an introduction to microbiology and pathogens. Instructor, Mr. Kent Berg, will take you through every aspect of decontaminating a crime, accident and decomposition scene.
A certificate and wallet card is awarded by NIDS to graduates, and Continuing Education Credits (or CEC's) are awarded from the IICRC and the Restoration Industry Association (RIA). NIDS training meets and exceeds the requirements of the American BioRecovery Association (ABRA).

Nationally recognized standard in crime and trauma scene
decontamination, is available to students who pass the final exam.
Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT)
Events: 4
with Drying Contaminated Buildings
A unique three-day program that concentrates on drying structures
without spreading contaminants. This course incorporates all the
information from the IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT)
exam with an adaptation for contamination. This training provides
restorers with valuable decision making skills when deciding to
proceed with a job that has limited or no mold insurance coverage.
Being able to continue on a water-loss without delays limits microbial
growth which in turn reduces the cost of remediation, ALE and
business interruption. Insurance companies will be more likely to
hire restorers that can provide prompt cost-saving services which
give your company a marketing advantage.
Continuing Education Credits:
AmIAQC 21 CE Credits; IICRC 2 Cleaning/Restoration or 1 Mold CEC
Certified Upholstery & Fabric Cleaning Technician (UFT)
Events: 1
(2 day course)
The Upholstery & Fabric Cleaning Technician course covers upholstery fiber categories, fiber identification and
testing, manufacturing of the fiber & fabric, chemistry of
cleaning, upholstery cleaning methods, protections, spotting and
potential problems. A student will have a specific knowledge
about fabric and fiber content, as well as furniture construction.
This enables students to identify limitations and potential
cleaning related problems, on a given piece of upholstery.
Continuing Education Credits:
IICRC 2 CECs
Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT)
Events: 8
A 4-day course that provides restorers with the necessary tools to perform mold & sewage remediation. Without proper mitigation of a water loss, mold can become a problem in less than 48 hours. In addition, the effects and handling of sewage back-flow has become a major concern for the restoration industry. This course includes hands-on training in our permanent built-in facilities. The AMRT Exam is offered at the conclusion of the course.
Continuing Education Credits:
IICRC 2 CECs; NEHA 30 CE Hours; ABIH 3.5 CM Points
IICRC Requirement to receive the AMRT Certification
All students taking the AMRT exam must first be an IICRC
Certified Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT).
